I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve updated W&B. The past few weeks have been pure craziness, Erik & I went to the Dominican which was incredible but my grandfather got really sick while we were away which wasn’t fun. Our flights got all messed up so we were delayed like crazy, it took us 24 hours to get back to home 🙁 It was really hard because all I wanted to do was get home to see my grandfather. The day we came back was my birthday and we were so thankful to be able to say goodbye to my grandfather in hospice. He passed away the following day.
I missed a lot of work since we were on vacation then I took time off to attend my grandfathers services and June is our busiest time of year so it’s been a serious whirlwind getting back into the swing of things. Just to top it all off, Erik got a new job in New York and he moved there this past weekend which has been craziness in itself. So needless to say, I’ve had no time and have been an emotional roller coaster.
So much change has been going on but I’m extremely grateful to have blogging as an outlet. This post is long overdue but I am so excited to FINALLY share and review my top four bathing suits from our trip, all of which are under $50 🙂
I love the high waisted off the shoulder bikini trend and was so excited to find one that I wanted to wear on vacation. I was going for color and print when I was bathing suit shopping but obviously couldn’t pass up on a neutral one! I’m extremely high waisted so when something is marked has “high waisted” most of the time it isn’t high waisted on me. I typically need to go for the “extra high waisted” labels to find something that fits me properly. I have to say, this suit didn’t fall exactly where I wanted it to on my hips, but I still found the shape to be flattering on my figure. I am wearing a size small in the top and bottom. I am small chested so the small top fit me perfectly but if you are above a B cup, I would recommend going up a size. The top of this suit is $14.90 and the bottoms are $12.90 . You can purchase the top here and the bottoms here!
Like I said, I was shopping for bathing suits with fun prints and colors for our tropical getaway. I fell in love with this watermelon high waisted suit when I saw it! I’m more of a neutral color kind of gal but I’m slowly venturing out to more exciting colors and prints. As I mentioned above, I have a hard time finding high waisted bottoms that are actually go over my hips. As you can see in the pictures, this suit didn’t entirely come above my hips but they came pretty close. I am wearing a size small in the top and bottom. The top fit me just right and I’m small chested so if you are above a B cup, I recommend going up a size. The entire suit is originally $36 but currently 50% off!!!!! And can be purchased here!
This is my first one piece I’ve worn since my awkward middle school camp days. I’m all about a little side boob especially while I’m on a tropical getaway with my lover. I didn’t want to invest too much into a one piece because I had no idea how it was going to fit. I must say, I was really impressed with this choice. This suit is certainly more revealing than my other choices but I found it to be perfect for the Caribbean. I personally wouldn’t wear this suit on a family trip to the beach but if you are shopping for a bachelorette party, honeymoon, girls trip or romantic vacay, I highly recommend. I am wearing a size small and found it to fit true to size. However, beware when you’re sunbathing in a chair, I came close to a few nipslips!! I noticed when I laid back, my boobs went to the sides and this bathing suit didn’t always follow (insert monkey covering it’s eyes emoji here!). The size small is perfect for women with a B cup or smaller, if you have a larger chest than that, I recommend going up a size. This suit is only $30 and you can purchase it here!
Saving the best for last! This was my favorite suit. I loved the tropical feel and the comfort. I don’t have any pictures of the back (trust me, it was like pulling teeth to get Erik to take a picture) but it was beautifully crisscrossed. I am wearing a size small and found it to fit true to size. The only downside of the suit is when you bend down, the chest stretches a little too far. I risked a nipslip or two when I bent down to get something out of my purse or grab my drink but had no problem when I was lounging around or swimming! This suit is only $19.90 and can be purchased here!
I hope this has helped you find some bathing suits for summer! Feel free to leave any questions below. Happy Friday guys and have a fabulous weekend!
